Falls Creek Falls, Washington
Work took a holiday today as I scratched a two month long itch to get out into nature for a real hike. Not the in-the-city-it’s-kinda-natural-here version. We went OUT and UP.
We got our start at 6AM. Yes, I said 6AM. The drive was about 90 minutes east and over into the Washington wilderness just about thirty minutes from the Bridge of The Gods. The hike was moderate and fun. Lots of fresh air and soft trails to walk on. I also got to play with some image making. When we got to the trail head there was one car parked. When we left, there were twelve or more and a mountain bike group was just saddling up. We left them with the afternoon showers at 2PM. We still had the rest of the day left for more fun if we wanted, which we did.
Would I do a 6AM start time again? YOU BET! It was totally worth it. I had been years since I did it and was happy that all the parties involved were game and would do it, too.
