Welcome fans, family and friends.
Monday, I begin a project I’ve been flirting with for about eight months: A photo a day for a year. This was inspired by several people, this guy, who has shot a photo a day for YEARS, this guy and this girl, who was in turn inspired by this photographer.
Why would I do such a thing?
I’ve read it will be hard to do, looking for inspiration daily, forcing myself to have something interesting to shoot and post every day for a year. I’ve read that some days I may not want to do it. I’ve read that it will improve my photography. I’ll also be forced to write as well, another thing I am working on improving. Technology has made getting the images uploaded pretty simple, as long as there is an internet connection. So the challenge does not lie there, but it lies within me.
I look forward to the new adventures I’ll have creatively. I will use whatever camera I have with me, and whatever lens. Some photos will be based on a theme, some will be caught on the fly, and some will be carefully crafted. I aim to get amazing images as often as possible. I’ve set the bar pretty high for myself.
And I hope you will join me for the next 365 days as I take this photographic journey. I’ve actually already started. I’m keenly aware that as I look around my environment, I’m already seeing images that would frame up nicely. My photo eye has been tuned to ON since last week when my interest was re-ignited.
I think I’m up for it now.
