St. Johns Bridge, Portland OR.
“A bridge is mathmatics brought to life.” – Steinman (one of the main engineers and designers of the St. John Bridge)
Lorita and I found our way to St. Johns today to run an errand. I coaxed her to go to this bridge because it’s so pretty, even from below. Gorgeous architecture! I’ve posted an image about this before here. And since I’ve made two entries bout this landmark, it deserves a more thorough write up, here. If you want a detailed drawing of the workings of this suspension bridge (are not afraid of heights or going over bridges ;-), then take a look at this. And, look for a future episode of the TV show GRIM. They were just setting up the production trucks as we were leaving.
