Since the sun was still out, Kath and I did a photo field trip today. She had never been to the Ballard Locks, nor this place. We stumbled into a tour in progress at the Locks and learned a whole lot about the history and importance of the place. There were several harbor seals in the channel as well. The fish ladder was closed for maintenance this month because salmon run through there almost all the other months.
I also took her to a few of my favorite places as she hadn’t been around town much. Here are some of them:

Sugar Pill – Capitol Hill (a kind of herbal apothecary, with chocolate from around the world)
Molly Moon’s – Capitol Hill (they have vegan ice cream now made with coconut milk!)
