The oven at Tabor Bread, Portland OR.
My inner foodie took over this morning as I was invited out for a coffee in the Hawthorne area of Portland. I read about Tabor Bakery in the Edible Portland magazine. This is not just another gluten free bakery full of sweets. This bakery sources their heirloom grains from local growers and they grind the flour themselves in the store. The floor had a light dusting of flour as did the baker you see in the back in the photo. Having cut grains from 99% of my food intake for health reasons, I was willing to make an exception for this place. You can read about the bakery and get the geeky details here. It was delicious and if I wake up without a food hangover, then it’s everything they claim it is. I admire artisans and wanted to share them with you.
