Agapanthus, Mar Vista CA
I’m in SoCal this week for a couple of weddings. Some of my favorite things are happening during my visit. They all happen to be purple:
– The jacarandas are in the final staged of blooming. If you live in LA, you know them for the prolific purple flowers that fall all over cars and sidewalks, make a purple mess of things.
-Agapanthus are also blooming.This is a fairly tall flower head that looks like a spiky purple ball. It’s a summer perennial.
– Figs. Fig lovers know what I’m talking about. If the skin is just slightly torn, then you know they are p e r f e c t l y ripe. Best eaten fresh off the tree, warm from the sun.
