Icicles, Lan Su Chinese Garden, Portland OR
Today was full of sunshine, which was a nice change from the last few days of gloom and snow. Light was everywhere, bouncing off the fresh snow. The temperatures are not supposed to get warmer until the weekend. So the white stuff will be around for a while.
A colleague and I wanted to go the garden today, but they were closed. Looking through the wall openings, we could see why: fallen branches were everywhere and there was snow two feet deep all over the bushes and shrubs. We could see the staff shaking the trees and bushes with stick to get rid of the heavy snow There was even a tree that came down. The snow was just too much. So we walked around the outside, peeking in. These icicles hung off of nearly all of these tiles. Some were three feet long!
