I just got back from seeing DEVO at the Greek Theater in Hollywood. WOW! what a FANTASTIC SHOW! The Spudboys were still givin’it. My companion saw them twenty five years ago at the Universal Ampitheater (I think!) so he was really excited to see them again.
I’ve had two connections with the band’s founders, Mark & Bob Mothersbaugh: I worked with Bob’s daughter for a couple of years, and my brother-in-law scored a movie with Mark.
They were a somewhat political statement band back then. And listening to the lyrics tonight, sadly some of those words still ring true today (Freedon of Choice, Beautiful World come to mind immediatly). And boy to they ROCK! We were on our feet during both of their sets.

Also on the ticket were Bow Wow Wow and A Flock of Seagulls. Both those bands rocked , too. But the Spudboys were IT!
