Renton WA.
Even though I was a little tired from the photo session I did today (55 students!), the weather conditions insisted that I take my walk and shoot today’s image.
I lingered long past sunset in the park. Looking out at the lake, I spotted a rather largish mammal swimming along the shore some distance out. I didn’t know what it was, so I began following it. It’s head was rather bulky and it was brown. It would dive every once in a while and come up munching on something I couldn’t make out in the waning light. Finally, it came halfway out of the water for me to see what it was: a beaver! It was too dark to get a good photo of it, so I just watched it patiently. It eventually went back into the water and I continued back to my car. It was pretty dark by then. On my way back, there were some people gathered on one of the bridges and they pointed out to the lake and said there were otters. Otters and beavers in Lake Washington! And then I saw them on the same evening.
