Day 275

Walking in the rain, Renton WA. Shot with Android phone

Umbrellas are a wonderful invention. I was told that Seattleites avoid using them. That may be true, but I don’t. I went out for my walk this morning, happy in the knowledge that I would be dry when I was done. My umbrella is bright red and stands out boldly against the gray. Just the thought of walking in the rain made me think of a very special movie moment, and the great Gene Kelly.

You know the one.

How can one be down after singing that song? (I didn’t go crazy though and bounce rythmically through puddles, but I was whistling).

Anyway, there were lots of images that could’ve made the post today. And there were the things I didn’t photograph that I saw:
a kingfisher perched on a sail poat mast, noisily announcing his territory,
the cormorants on the log boom,
a dead salmon, which was hauled out of the water and onto a floating log tip, looking like a perfect bald eagle breakfast (not sure how it got up there),
white carnations strewn in the water. It was a pretty visually stimulating morning and I’m glad to share it with you.

The image I chose was timed to place the walkers in that spot. I love it when it comes together like this.
