Copper leaves, Renton WA.
Unlike yesterday, today was mostly sunny and bright. These copper leaves are just getting the first rays of the sun when I made this image. It will look great as a black and white as well.
I’m also going to include a photo from yesterday – a pair of Sockeye salmon – in the lake. They’ve come back to spawn and live out their last days in their birthplace. I was was surprised to see them because I thought they only liked streams. But Sockeye will spawn in lakes as well, because they do live in lakes as part of thier lifecycle.
They look a little beatup because they are. And the fact that once they reach freshwater from the ocean, they start to shut down all non-essential functions, including the need to eat.
