Day 120

Lake Washington as viewed from Newcastle Park, looking south.

I thought for sure it was going to be a hard day to find something to shoot, it being gray and all. Y’know, the usual flat light, all encopassing gray you’ve heard about. But as I was on my way to Seattle this evening on the 405 Freeway, I saw glimpses of reflections on the lake through the trees. It was also calm, no wind. ‘Hmmm, there are some cool shots’, I thought. So I took the next exit in hopes that I would be able to get the same view as I did from the freeway. As usual, that was not to be. As anyone who’s been inspired by an on the road scene spotted at 60 mph, you know that the chances of getting “that cool shot I saw from the freeway” are as likely as winning the lottery. It hardly ever works out. So I parked anyway and walked down to the water’s edge.

Umm wow. There were lots of cool angles. Too many. I shot 15 images.

There were at least three others that were worthy of the final cut. And I even got the Space Needle in town as part of today’s catch. But this one had the most emotional impact for me.
