Heron Lake, Portland OR

It snowed today. The temperatures had been hovering around the low 30’s for the past few days. I knew I wanted a photo of nature today and if there was ice, it would be a plus. On a hunch, I drove towards the Columbia River with the hopes of finding what I had envisioned. As it was cold, the place I had to find could not involve walking a long way or through icy mud. I was not disappointed. However, I did do something I haven’t done in years: I left the house without a card in my camera. Thus the image was made with my trusty backup camera phone.

That tiny dot in in the tree to the right is a bald eagle.

I’ll come back with all my gear next time.
