Day 193

Summer evening, Woodinville WA.

I met some friends for dinner. It wasn’t raining, the sun was out and it was pleasant (I think we broke 70F today).

I had a thought about summer in the Northwest: in Seattle, summer isn’t a season, it’s a wish. When it’s nice, it’s the best! But if you’re not from here, it’s a real struggle to KNOW it’s July, and know that most every place else is enjoying sunshine and warm lazy days, day after day (and even if you are from here, you secretly want this). Not here.

One day it’s Summer, the next it could be Fall. So like the spoof, when it is nice, this happens.

So the moral of the story is to get out when you can, don’t put it off it needs to happen on a sunny day. And if it rains, oh well.
