Bamboo, Light and Shadow a wall, Lan Su Chinese Garden, Portland OR.
It is still quite cold in Portland. The fact that it was sunny was only a trick to make you think it was warm. Nevertheless, I went out to get what sunlight I could, and I went to the prettiest place in the neighborhood: The Lan Su Chinese Garden. The pond had a layer of ice on top. There were some koi under the ice, just hanging out.
It took me a few tries to get the image above. I wanted to share the progression of how I started with this:
But I thought it was too busy. So I changed modes and got this:
Interesting. The angled lines got may attention, so I did this:

I really liked the lines, reflections and textures. This is good practice for me.
