Fresh sweet peas

Who doesn’t have a memory of picking peas, splitting the pods open, running your thumb down the inside to release the peas and eating them fresh? If you’ve never done it, you’re missing one of life’s greatest pleasures. Lorita and I did that today. These are growing in her garden.

I went over to her house today to dig in the dirt (aka plant some seeds). As we worked, the sun was warm on my back, I was wrist deep in fluffy, well mixed dirt and familiar outside sounds floated through the air. Sounds that reminded me of my childhood. The strange thing is I can’t even tell you what sounds they were. But it was nice.

Sure beats filing paper.
