Young swallows wait for momma bird to bring back the goods. I found them on my walk today at Gene Coulon park (as it was a sunny day, also present were scads of teens in bikinis, but this is a family blog…). They were pretty intent on not flying if they didn’t have to. I was only about 4 feet away from them. They eventually took flight as I passed them. I think they are Tree Swallows as indicated here.
